Competitive Analysis
The Honda Civic is an
amazing car but it does have some great competition when it comes to quality.
Two huge competitors would be the 2017 Ford Focus, as well as the Toyota
Corolla. Granted there are hundreds of cars on the market with similar characteristics
as the Honda Civic, however, all three of these vehicles are neck-to-neck when
it comes to quality. But, each individual car has its pros and cons.
The Honda Civic comes out on top when it comes to horsepower,
174 to be exact. “At 174 horsepower and
162 pound-feet of torque, the Civic Touring pretty much blows the competition
out of the water,” (Goodwin, Roadshow by Cnet). The Honda also offers much
more space than the two opponents. When it comes to affordability, Ford beats
Honda. The Ford Focus process starts at $16,775, whereas the Honda is a little
more at $18,740. But there is no mistake as to why the Honda is priced a little
more—you are paying for quality in other words. “The Civic earns a perfect 10.0 out of 10, and five stars in all phases
of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administrations’ (NHTSA) crash testing,”
(Kennedy, Cars.USnews.com). Safety is a very important factor when it comes
to choosing a car and another one would be comfort. Being comfortable in your
vehicle is a must and although the two competitors come close, the Honda Civic
still comes out on top as the most comfortable car of the three. When it comes
to consumers of this generation, technology has to be included. The three cars
all feature amazing technology systems, such as a rear view camera. As of now,
the 2017 Honda Civic is the best in its class and has been rated #1 on multiple
reviews sights. “Brilliantly engineered
but wrapped in boldly unorthodox bodywork, the Honda Civic makes a strong
argument against buying a bigger and more expensive car,” (Wardlaw, NY Daily
News).
